The Process
My web design work typically entails the creation of a customized website using the Wix.com platform. Wix (similar to WordPress and Squarespace) offers a drag and drop website builder with built-in hosting options, domain registration (your .com address), and email hosting, with flexible and affordable plans. Having a one-stop shop for these things is incredible enough, but Wix also allows you to manage your website from your phone using the Wix mobile app. That means you can send your newsletter, write a blog post, list new items in your shop, and even connect to Square to sell items in person straight from your phone. One. Stop. Shop. To know it is to love it.
I personally design your website on the Wix.com platform and add your content, photos, and other graphic elements to create a stunning website. When it's time to launch your website live I will transfer the website into your Wix.com account and you will choose your hosting plan and any add-on features you might like such as a custom @yourdomain.com email address.*
Wix websites are customized for mobile viewing and look great on every platform, from desktop computers to iPhone to tablets. I have created this website with Wix, along with many others, recently including Wardensville Garden Market, Pete Hobbie Woodworks, Hexenring Mushrooms, Visit Wardensville, and 100 Bowls. It's fast and affordable compared to custom built websites which are often unnecessary for a small business and can be difficult to self-manage and update. Wix's ease of use allows the website owner to be trained to maintain and update their own content after the initial set up and launch by me, which puts you in control of changes and updates. Clients can easily maintain a blog, newsletter, sell products through a web store and Wix mobile app. I walk you through the process from start to finish and engage you in helping brainstorm how to grow your project and set achievable goals for the future.
I generally prefer Wix over WordPress and Squarespace, but I do work with those website builders too. There are benefits to all platforms and it isn't a one size fits all solution. Once I hear your specific needs for your project I can give you my recommendation for the best platform for you. I can also facilitate switching your existing website from your current host/builder over to something different if, for example, you started with WordPress and you're discovering it's over your head. I'm here to help you start from scratch or finally take control over your online presence, wherever you are along the path.

Custom Wix Website Design
Investment includes:
- Your content (photos, text, social media, etc) added to individually designed pages
- Connection of Domain (www.yourwebsite.com)
- SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
- Mobile Optimized website
Custom Add Ons:
- Logo design, and/or other branding
- Photography (portraits, products, on site, etc.)
- Product and label design
Turn Around Time:
Typically anywhere from 10 to 30 days, give or take. This estimate is based on my current workload and the complexity of your site. If you need your project fast tracked I accept rush orders for an additional fee determined on a case by case basis.
Site Maintenance:
I'm available for support and troubleshooting after your website launch for the work I have done. Additional support for regular updates, or to add a feature such as a web store or online booking as your business grows, I offer website maintenance for an hourly rate of $35/HR.
Pricing
My services are priced based on your specific needs and my hourly rate of $35/HR. Web design begins at $400 for a basic site and ranges up to $2,500 for a full e-commerce website. The amount of pages and type of site (personal vs. e-commerce) greatly influences the final cost and how many hours I will need to dedicate to your project.
When considering working together, first we will discuss your needs, ideas, and goals for your website. Next, I will work up a price quote tailored to your specific project. I find a custom package the best way to serve my clients based on their budget and include as many features as I can from the services I offer. I am often a one-stop shop for logo design, web design, and photography for my clients. This enhances the presentation of their branding immensely.
